About this Guide
Motivation
This week Mark and I have been thinking about ways to stay healthy and motivated now that the northern hemisphere is heading into winter. Ideas have largely been about getting outside and keeping moving, taking advantage of available sunlight (with skin & eye protection), seeing people safely, and eating well. This is always a tricky part of the term, midterm exams are arriving in many courses (not this one!) and stress levels can rise as we are cooped up in our homes. Be good to yourself, reward motivation in small, but deliberate ways.

Behind-the-Scenes
Need a dose of summer sunshine? We will have flowers and pollinator gardens in Guide 9B and here is a taste of things to come.
Strawberry plants are often purchased as bare roots in late spring.
Select your strawberry plants carefully, they can establish for years in a garden.
We have been building a garden to shoot video demos. This is our first big garden and we have learned a lot along the way. Some of the best parts have been surprises like the number of potatoes a single plant can produce :).
