Make media about the structures and functions of economically important trees.

Tree Anatomy
Humans have a close relationship with many tree species. For this media piece you are collecting information (by photo, video, sketch, writing, etc.) about the aspects of trees that impact humans.
Include in your piece:
- The distinction between, and examples of, gymnosperm and angiosperm trees (both monocot and dicot angiosperm trees).
- How trees can be identified from a distance by shape, including an example.
- How trees can be identified by twigs in the winter, including an example.
- The structure and function of bark, including how it can be used for identification and also damaged by parasites.
- The difference between heartwood and sapwood in a tree stem, including their locations and functions.
- What earlywood and latewood indicate in a cross-section of a tree stem.
- Examples of hardwood and softwood trees, including products made from each type of wood.
