Manage Something
In a world where it is easy to feel out of control, sometimes it can help to manage a small piece in order to gain perspective. We have been managing 10 acres for 20 years, but in some ways it is really managing each tree individually. From the moment we selected individual trees, planted them, watered them, and watched each grow, we were managing small and rich communities. Seeing the incredible diversity of life and interactions grow over time puts other things into perspective.

Behind-the-Scenes
In this module we start in the Willamette Valley oak savannah and then head to the Pacific coast. If you live along a coast, you may already be familiar with beachcombing. If not, you are in for a treat!
Your beach-combing and study tools do not need to be expensive. Most of our equipment is dual use and came from a resale shop.
The beach is the perfect place to journal. This is a low-impact alternative to collecting objects and typically takes less space :).
